On Friday 4th of April, Barratt Redrow teamed up with the Foundation’s charity Partner Street League, to host Games for Good – a day of physical and mental challenges that brought together 300 colleagues in Leeds and London.
From human hamster races to blindfolded LEGO building and penalty shootouts, the day was packed with fun, friendly competition, and plenty of sunshine.
We were thrilled to have CEO David Thomas open the London event and COO Steven Boyes kick things off in Leeds. Both stayed to cheer teams on throughout the day and helped present awards to the top-performing teams and runners-up.
We’re proud to share that Barratt Redrow colleagues raised an incredible £42,000 for Street League. With the plc generously matching this amount, the total donation comes to £85,000. These funds will help provide young people with essential support, a safe space to get active and learn, and a pathway to employment and a brighter future.
About Street League:
Street League has over 20 years’ experience of transforming young lives across the UK. They work with unemployed young people (aged 16-30) who face tough life challenges, personal barriers and live in some of the most disadvantaged communities, operating in 35 unemployment hotspots across 12 regions from Edinburgh down to London. They engage young people in sport, employability skills and qualifications whilst continuing to support them into jobs with ‘in work’ aftercare support.
