Our colleagues rolled up their sleeves to help care for local green spaces as part of a nationwide volunteering campaign in partnership with a litter-picking charity.
The Barratt Redrow Foundation expanded its partnership with environmental charity CleanupUK by mobilising colleagues from across the organisation to support community-led litter-reduction efforts in the UK.
Over 60 events took place, with four flagship initiatives in Birmingham, London, north Wales and Glasgow.
950 team members from divisions all over the nation volunteered a combined 2950 hours, collecting a total of 1137 bags of litter and helping to ensure public spaces continue to be enjoyed by local communities.
Coined the Barratt Redrow Clean-up, the activity was set up in support of CleanupUK – a charity that encourages communities to come together to tackle litter in their neighbourhoods. The charity does this by helping to establish locally led litter-picking groups and providing the resources needed to create cleaner, safer and greener spaces.
Andy Button-Stephens, Head of the Barratt Redrow Foundation, said: “CleanupUK plays a vital role in tackling litter while bringing people together. For the third year running, we’re proud to partner with such an important charity.
“These clean-ups are about more than collecting litter; they’re about creating a lasting positive impact in the communities where we live and work.
“This has been our biggest Barratt Redrow Clean-up to date, with more than 60 events taking place nationwide and hundreds of employee volunteers getting involved.”
The litter pick is one of several initiatives supported by the Barratt Redrow Foundation, which focuses on creating lasting social value through corporate volunteering, partnerships and grassroots projects across the UK. Since its launch in 2021, the foundation has donated more than £20 million to more than 1,700 local and national charities.
