Barratt colleagues from West Scotland, North Midlands and North East England joined forces with Magic Breakfast’s volunteering initiative, Magic Makers, to bring festive cheer to schoolchildren this December. Barratt volunteers supported three of Magic Breakfast’s primary schools by purchasing gifts from carefully selected wish lists, wrapping them, and delivering them to the children.
The children received a wonderful variety of presents, including books, games, and toys, which added a special touch to their school breakfast experience. For children from households facing financial challenges, the chance to unwrap a gift and share a magical moment with friends was particularly meaningful.
Some Barratt volunteers even dressed as Santa, going the extra mile to create unforgettable memories. One child described the day as “the best morning ever,” while another, who had never opened a present before, found the experience truly magical.
A teacher from one of Magic Breakfast’s partner schools said:
“The volunteers were very focused on the children. They spent a lot of time playing and talking with them! The presents they brought were amazing and will provide great activities for breakfast club and the rest of the school to enjoy.”
This year, Magic Makers reached over 1,200 children, spreading joy and making a lasting impact through their thoughtful gifts and festive spirit.
