We’re delighted to announce that we have renewed our partnership with the Baby Bank Alliance for another year, with a £100,000 donation to support their vital work across the UK.
Our partnership helps to ensure families facing hardship can access essential items for babies and young children – from nappies and toiletries to clothing, cots, prams, toys and much more – through a network of local baby banks coordinated by the Alliance.
Our impact so far
In the first year of our partnership, divisions across the country have rallied behind their local baby banks- donating essential items, volunteering time, and building ongoing relationships with grassroots services that support families in their communities.
Highlights include:
- Local donations and collections: Divisions organised drives for nappies, wipes, formula, clothing, and baby equipment to meet urgent local needs.
- Hands-on volunteering: Colleagues supported sorting, packing, and preparing bundles for referral partners.

One standout example comes from our West Midlands team and their long-standing relationship with their local baby bank, New Beginnings. Below, Amanda shares how the partnership started, what support looks like in practice, and the difference it makes.
How long have you and the division been supporting New Beginnings?
I first introduced Barratt West Midlands to New Beginnings back in 2017, when they were still known as Baby Basics. We’ve been supporting them ever since.
What kinds of support do you provide, and what does that look like in practice?
Our support is mainly through collections – gathering essential items that New Beginnings can pass directly to families who need them. It’s a simple model but incredibly impactful.
What has been the most rewarding or memorable part of supporting New Beginnings?
For me, the most rewarding part is seeing the completed baskets. The care, pride, and thoughtfulness the team puts into each one really shows how much these items mean to the families who receive them.
What sparked the connection with New Beginnings? What made you want to get involved?
They’re part of my own local community, and before Covid I used to volunteer with them regularly. I also organised large donations through family and friends. It’s a cause I’ve always felt personally compelled to support.
Do you have a standout moment or story that illustrates why this partnership matters?
One moment that really stands out is the sheer joy on Carrie’s face during our most recent collection. Her reaction said everything about how much this support means on the ground.
How have colleagues responded to getting involved?
We have a core group of colleagues who are always the first to step forward when it comes to supporting children’s charities. For them, this kind of giving comes naturally – they’re incredibly kind, committed people, and that consistency means so much.
What would you say to another division thinking about supporting their local baby bank?
Don’t underestimate the impact of small donations. Every single item makes a difference. You don’t need huge collections to have a meaningful impact.
