Four divisions took part in For Baby’s Sake’s Christmas Hamper Packing initiative – a volunteering effort designed to bring practical support and comfort to families facing extremely challenging circumstances. For Baby’s Sake is one of the Barratt Redrow Foundation’s newest grant partners, and this initiative offered colleagues a meaningful way to support their work first‑hand.
Colleagues sourced, packed, and carefully wrapped Christmas hampers filled with essential items. From baby goods and toiletries to non‑perishable food and warm clothing, teams selected items to offer both meaningful support and a touch of festive cheer. Once complete, the hampers were delivered directly to families across the UK.
In total, Barratt Redrow colleagues supported 50 families – a significant achievement and a strong reflection of the compassion shown across the business.
Many families supported by For Baby’s Sake are not only experiencing the trauma of domestic abuse but are also facing severe financial hardship, with many living in the top 20% most deprived households in the UK. For these parents and children, a thoughtfully prepared hamper is far more than a seasonal gift; it is a reminder that they are seen, supported, and valued during one of the most difficult times of the year.
One of the families said:
“I was just calling to say thank you so much for the bag of presents and stuff. I’m on the verge of tears, like there’s so much in here for both my kids and myself, and I’m just so grateful. Have a Merry Christmas and much respect to you.”
